๐ Drugs and business cards found in car by police in Daybrook
Four men have been arrested after large amounts of drugs and business cards advertising their sale were seized following a car stop in Daybrook.
Police on patrol in the area around 9pm on March 10, observed a car being driven in an antisocial manner around the Go Outdoors car park, in Mansfield Road.
When officers approached the vehicle they were confronted by an overpowering smell of cannabis and searches were carried out.

Inside the car officers from the Gedling Central neighbourhood policing team located deal bags containing suspected cocaine, ketamine and MDMA.
They also found a number of business cards advertising the sale of cannabis, vapes and other items.
Four men in the vehicle, three aged 18 and one 19-year-old, were then arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.
The team carried out a second proactive vehicle stop on Wednesday (11 March) when they pulled over a car which intelligence linked to drugs supply.
The driver and the vehicle were searched and again officers recovered large amounts of cannabis, suspected cocaine, ketamine and MDMA.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs and possession of a psychoactive substance with intent to supply.
Inspector Steven King, local area commander for Gedling borough, said: โTackling drug supply is a key priority for my officers so teams are always alert to vehicles which could be involved.
โWith both these stops their suspicions were proved correct and we have been able to recover significant quantities of drugs.
โWe know these seizures and arrests can severely disrupt the illegal drugs trade and it is always good news when we can take these substances off the streets.โ

๐โโ๏ธ Council proposes positive future for Calverton and Redhill Leisure Centres
Gedling Borough Council has set out plans that they say would secure a positive future for Calverton and Redhill Leisure Centres following a consultation with residents.
A report to be considered by Cabinet on March 26 proposes that Calverton and Redhill Leisure Centres will continue to be operated by the Council, following feedback received from residents.

The proposal comes as the council continues with plans to modernise its leisure facilities across the borough, including the development of Carlton Active, which will replace ageing facilities with modern, energy-efficient spaces designed to serve communities for decades to come.
The Council say that by committing to the development of a new modern facility in Carlton and the financial sustainability this brings, it is now working to ensure that other centres such as in Calverton are protected for future years.
Leader of Gedling Borough Council, Councillor John Clarke MBE, said:โWe have listened carefully to residents, and Iโm pleased that we are now able to propose that Calverton Leisure Centre will continue to be operated by the council.
"We also remain committed to operate Redhill Leisure Centre while we consider future funding options for the development of brand new facilities in Arnold.
โResidents shared a wide range of views during the consultation and that feedback has helped inform the approach we are taking to our leisure services. By taking a sensible and forward-looking approach to our leisure portfolio, we can protect the facilities people value while ensuring they remain sustainable for the future.โ
Portfolio Holder for Lifestyles, Health and Wellbeing, Councillor Henry Wheeler, added: โThis proposal shows the council is committed to protecting our sustainable leisure offer to local communities. This is reflected further in the capital investment we are making at both Calverton and Redhill in 2026.
"The proposals include significant essential maintenance of the pool at Calverton to support its operation for years to come and a huge investment in new state of the art fitness equipment at Redhill making it the premium facility in the Arnold area.โ
